Update 7-27-2023:

Hello everyone,

As mentioned yesterday, Secretary Rebecca Estes was able to get back our Not-For-Profit Status!

Today, Treasurer Samantha Henley was successful in opening up our bank account!  The Cashier’s check was deposited!  Checks will be here August 4, 2023!

Ladies and gentlemen:

We are back in business!

A very special thanks to Rebecca and Samantha for their persistence and hard work!

Update 7-26-2023:

Morning all,

Want to give you a quick brief update about what happened yesterday.

  • As promised, I did notify SEMA’s Leadership where we are:
    • With our sponsorship
    • Our booth
    • Our need to have a place to have a meeting at the SEMA Conference.
    • Other things, I will share with you later when I send out the minutes to our last meeting.
  • As mentioned in our Zoom Meeting last week, Larry Woods brought all of the MEPA/MOEMA paperwork to Mike O’Neal, who brought them to the Region H Hazmat Build in St. Joseph.  The Region H Hazmat Building is located at 312 West Colorado Ave. in Saint Joseph MO 64504. When the Hazmat Team moved into our building, my guys/gals wanted a room of their own.  I bought them carpet and put a desk in there and 4 years later they have not utilized that area.  It should be noted that we do not receive mail there!
  • Mike and I went through all of the stuff and we did find:
  • The MOEMA stand up sign.
  • The MOEMA table covers.
  • We did find some MOEMA give away pens – Mike tired a couple of them and they still work.
  • We did find a few MOEMA lanyards.
  • We did find some paperwork that I am going to try and duplicate for this conference.
  • I have the box set aside to bring to the conference.

What we need:

  • We need some ideas about giveaways for our exhibit? (not enough pens)
  • Does anyone have a contact to get them before the conference?

For those who were on the call, as promised I did buy Mike lunch at the Hoof and Horn Restaurant in St. Joseph!

More information to follow!

Update 7-19-2023: We have the letter which removes MOEMA from the defunct list. Our treasurer will be opening the bank account shortly and we will be back to collecting dues. We are also working on a way for you to pay your dues online! Stay tuned for more updates!

December 28, 2022

With the appointment of an interim president and vice president in December 2022, MOEMA is back on the path to success.

The association landed on the defunct list and Secretary Rebecca Estes has been working through a stack of paperwork a mile high to get us off of that list. She needed an interim president and vice president in place to move forward, so after several emergency meetings of the board and officers, Bill Brinton was appointed interim president and Michael Oneal was appointed interim vice president. Chet Hunter was also appointed to the position of Past President.

Once the association is off the defunct list, we can move forward with opening the new bank account and set the wheels in motion to restore the MOCEM program.

We are excited to relaunch MOEMA bigger and better than ever, but we need YOUR help. Without members, we aren’t serving anyone. We need your ideas, a little of your time, and all of your support!

Standby for updates on dues and more soon!
